So many adventures have been going on that I have had little time to write about them!
Let us begin with our adventure to Napa Valley. Platinum Plums and I organized the car, our clothes were piled high and the junk food was ready for our belly consumption… The CD’s loaded and we were off!
We left our comfy surroundings around 7pm and made our way to Sausalito around 12:30am. Not bad timing considering we had one pit stop and Plums became reaquainted with stick shift.
We decided to stop by in Sausalito because Plums has a friend, PT, there. We figured since we were already driving in that general direction we might as make a sleep over in Sausalito. PT was awaiting our arrival with open arms.
WOW!!! What an amazing place PT has, the view alone was reason enough to make us want to spend our entire mini vacation there. PT tried very hard to convince us to stay… Including getting us liquid-up the next morning/afternoon. We went to the best scramble egg joint in town and started our morning off with a mimosa. That drink was followed with a bottle of white wine, admiring the skyline of San Franscico and Alcatraz. Soon after we killed the bottle, we went to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the famed Sushi joint in Sausalito. So of course we toasted their achivement with sake!
Now PT was nursing a “broken” heart when we came to visit. His girlfriend, kind of broke up with him in Europe. Although I think technically he put the kaboosh on the relationship when he suggested that she not move in to his place until after they went to Europe together, so they could better get to know each other…. She didn’t take that too kindly and decided not to move in all together and end their relationship before going to Europe. He of course still went to Europe and she refused to see him… He “cried” his way to all the different countries. Came back to the USA, crushed. He was still very much distraught over her, trying to figure out ways to see her again and finding excuses to drop off souvenirs. I asked him in all honesty if the reason why he wants to see her was to ease his ego from her actually ending it because he was the one who put their relationship on hold. PT did admit it was a complete ego trip he was on because in the next moment he was telling me of his undying love for Plums!!!
PT believed and has always believed that he and Plums were destined to be together, that they were soul mates and as the liquor increased in his blood stream so did his declaration for her to be his one and only…. She of course, does not feel the same and we sobered up quickly…
We packed the car once more. Put the top down, wrapped our heads with scarves, a la 1950’s style and continued our adventure to Napa Valley!
45 minutes later, we arrived at our destination, AMERICAN CANYON! Wait… WHAT? AMERICAN CANYON? We’re not in Napa Valley? The promotional package that Plums had purchased was for Napa Valley, but when she called to book it, it was not actually in Napa Valley but 20 minutes south in American Canyon… Definitely problematic for our drunken adventure!!!
That night we went for Chinese food and bought the cheapest bottles of wine, white and red from Safeway. We changed into our bikinis, braved the stench that seemd to engulf American Canyon that evening and soothed our aching buttocks in the hot tub….
Monday morning found us loading up on free breakfast goodies and wandering over to the visitor’s center to figure out the best way into Napa. The kind gentleman at the wine tasting bar in the visitor’s center was very helpful in getting us drunk! 2 hours later, many glasses of wine that kept getting topped off and bottles killed and one more glass for the road, we wandered towards what we thought was a bus stop!
While we were nibbling on our hemp seed munchies, gold fishes and pb & j sandwiches, we realized that the stop that we were at was actually not the bus stop that we needed!
Upon that realization we decided to try our luck at hitch hiking! With our thumbs out we waiting in vain as cars passed us by… As well as the bus we wanted to take! SIGH! Hitch hiking is much harder then it looks…. I guess picking up two unsuspecting drunk girls is not on everyone’s must do list! We started walking towards the other bus stop. Just when we lost all hope in our hitch hiking venture, a SUV pulled up along side us to wait for the red light, with its window down, Plums asks the driver which way was he going??? NAPA!!!!! and sure he’ll take us into town!!!!!
CHECK hitch hiking off our list! Turns out the driver was the owner of Big Kid Toys in Napa. We lucked out!!!! He said once he dropped off one of his toys, he could take us anywhere we wanted to go. Waahooo!!!!! We decided since we had this free ride/driver, we wanted to go all the way to Yountville. And away we went!
Yountville is an adorable little town! From what I could tell in my drunken haze… We stopped off at a wine tasting room. I enjoyed the wine there so much that I decided to walk off with their glass as a souvenir…. Plums chose to pay for our tasting with cash, best not to leave any trackable evidence behind…. BKT waited in the get away car as we dashed away!
BKT suggested that since all the wineries and tasting rooms were now closed that we should go for happy hour at Frida’s Mexican restaurant. So of course we mixed our wine with tequila! I realized that during happy hour that even though BKT was married, he would in a heart beat cheat on his wife and gladly join us in our late night hot tub ritual. We did not invite him and said thank you and good bye when he dropped us back at our hotel…
Tuesday Morning found us getting ready for the “real” reason that brought us to Napa Valley

. The time share presentation. I have to admit that a few years ago, I was suckered into buying a time share from the Starwood Corporation. This time around I was determined NOT to be pursueded…. But of course I was once more suckered in!!! BUT I decided to figure out a way to get out of my other time share and save money in the meantime…
Since I decided to buy again this time around, the wonderful people of time share, decided to switch our accommodation from American Canyon in to the heart of Napa Valley! YEAH!!!!!!
We swiftly packed our bags again and made our way to our tiny adorable mobile cabin like rooms… Much better! We threw our belongs inside and made our way to downtown Napa, where we proceeded to the nearest complimentary wine tasting room! We had to make up for the hours spent time sharing… All the tasting on practically empty stomach does lead to unneccesary spending, wandering aimlessly around the city and make new friends!
The new friends I am talking about come in the form of the president of one of the limo services in Napa!!!! Sadly since we were leaving the next day, he could not in good conscious take us on a tour because it is his companies job to take us out and thoroughly show us Napa finest wineries, aka get us completely drunk! He did however say that the next time we were in town, he would definitely set us up on a tour. SWEET!!!!!
Since we were not in the mood to spend money on a taxi back to our cabin and we were surrounded by drivers, Plums decided to invite them to the hot tub ritual. I may have been drunk but I knew that when you invite a guy over to hang out in your hot tub, they are thinking of a hook up! 2 guys came back with us… 2 guys + 2 drunk girls = NADDA!!!! My stomach was hurting and since I am convinced my stomach is the size of an apple and it was not handling the amount of food and wine I was pouring into it, I had to worship the porcelain goddess….
The boys were sadly disappointed when in the end, all they got was wet boxers on a cold night!
Our last day in Napa Valley began very slowly. We did not want to leave our adorable mobile cabin room. But seeing how we had been in Napa Valley for a few days and had yet to make it to a winery, we left our mobile cabin room and made it to our very first winery!!!! My stomach was still a bit unsettled and my wallet didn’t feel like opening to pay for a tasting, we decided to just look around and then ask about the nearest olive oil tasting room.
We drank our way through all the different olive oil and balsamic vinegars. Our arms loaded up with goodies we ventured to the nearest wine tasting room… Since we had little to eat, the wine went straight to our heads because Plums decided to join this particular tasting rooms club! We did get 30% off of our first purchase. I bought a bottle of port, to go with the chocolate, that I plan on dabbling on my next conquest…..
Food was calling out our name and away we went to find a place to fulfill our hunger. I saw an A&W burger joint place and I have a habit of if there is one in the area then I MUST go to it! Plums had never been and decided to eat the KFC that was attached. I think that was a huge mistake because at the next winery we went to, we could barely get down the tiniest of sips. I ended up once again praying to the porclein goddess….
Needing to take a nap and sleep away my belly ache, we attempt the drive back to reality…
It was a long and difficult drive back which found a cop pulling us over and giving Plums a ticket for speeding. Who knew that 94mph felt like 78mph!
At 12:30 am we made it back to my little nook.
This Adventure found us in a drunken haze enjoying wine and getting sick to our stomach of it as well. And not one step closer in figuring out what to do with my potentials!
