Every Thursday night in Santa Monica during the summer there are concerts on the pier.  This summer was my first concert series.  Not because I haven’t wanted to go in the past, I this summer actually made a conscious effort to go.  I met these amazing people on the beach, they call themselves, The Yellow Podka Dot Umbrella group, which now I am a proud member of! 

The first night I met the ‘ella group, I was a bit reserved.  Feeling everyone out because being the newbie I wanted to see how everyone interacted.  One of the “leaders” of the group totally pimped me out.  Told everyone that I was a new comer and for them all to introduce themselves to me and make me feel welcome.  Pretty AMAZING!  I felt very special… Which I know I am! 

Majority of the group said hello to me BUT there was this one particular 4 boy group that gave me the eye-ball up-down look and didn’t even bother to come over to say hello.  I knew instantly that they would NOT be my cup of tea…

. And sure enough I was right! They are like warm beer!  And if you ever had warm beer you know what I mean, you only drink it because it’s your only option but you would actually prefer a glass of scotch….  They thought I was shy and anti-social because I didn’t care for their food spread and didn’t say how high when they said jump!  WARM BEER…

Well last night under the ‘ella, we were all wearing mustaches because every week there is a different theme.  Last nights was mustache night.  I had my pink mustance and ‘stache catching net which was blue.  Let me back up and explain my nets.  I brought these fabulous bug/butterfly catching nets at Red Circle Boutique (Target) quite some time ago for “MAN CATCHING” purposes.  They are great conversational starters when at a bar.  Every one asks why do you have a net, and my reply is “TO CATCH A MAN….” to which many boys say, I’m right here….  Like I said GREAT CONVERSATIONAL starter! 

So I’m mingling with the peeps, trying to catch ‘staches when the hottie from the previous Thursday night comes up to say “HI” to me and gives me a hug!  HEAVEN…  Now this hottie I met last week when Platinum Plums and I physically pulled hottie and friend, who were sitting on their blanket, closer to the ‘ella group.  They were mighty impressed that 2 amazingly beautiful women could pull men such as themselves a good 5 feet…  When we want something, we make it happen! 

So hottie and I are standing there talking with my girl Josie.  He then starts discussing men.  He tells us that men are very simple creatures.  They have 2 basic needs, FOOD and SEX.  He tells us to keep their bellys full, satisfy their sexual desires and they will be happy campers.  Hottie also starts going off how men want to be MEN, they want to feel NEEDED.  They want to be commanded, told what to do and be there for the damsel in distress.  While he is telling us this, I’m thinking in my head, this is what I HAVE been doing all along yet I’m still having to fight VILLIANS!!!!  BUT then again I have been dealing with BOYS and MEN are far and few inbetween….. Hottie leaves us for a brief moment on this note, men want to be needed, they want to know their balls are intacted and they need sex.  Deny them SEX and they will find it elsewhere… Oh and DON’T NAG, COMMAND!

Hmmm.. Words to ponder… Advice I kind of already knew…. BUT it was good to hear it re-confirmed by the male species!
