After my last post, realizing I was never going to make it at my appointed date time, I messaged LightSaber to say I would actually be running 30 minutes late. But of course I arrived before he was there.
I love walking into a bar and every head turns to look at you. There was a group of guys standing by the bar, basically staring me down. I guess it’s not often they see a woman of my caliber walking through those door.
The funny thing about the bar that LightSaber chose, it is the exact bar that MonkeyBoy and I had our date so many moons ago. I wonder what the deal is with the pirate theme bar that guys flock too?
Since I was first to arrive, I opted not to order a cocktail first.
About 7 minutes later, LightSaber walked in. I recognized him immediately. He wasn’t completely the wanna be punk rocker look of his pictures. He was actually well put together but I knew instantly that there would be no physical attraction on my part.
We ordered our martinis. He paid of course. The bar was setting up for a live band performance, so we decided to sit outside.
Our conversation flowed effortlessly. The getting to know you variety without getting all serious, all fun and joking around. I could tell early on that he was attracted to me and hoped that the feeling was mutual. It was not.
I maintained my fun, good natured vivacious personality, but never revealing my true identity. It’s amazing how easy it is to carry on a conversation for 1.5 hours and never divulging any true personal information about oneself.
Since we were outside and the bar was starting to fill up, the air around us began to suffocate me with smoke. I couldn’t handle the second hand fumes anymore and ended our date.
He walked me to my car and said he had a good time and would love to see/talk to me again.
Now what would my answer be…
I think we would make GREAT friends….
He shook my hand and we parted ways.
I certainly didn’t want to lead him on. We would actually make good friends. Our conversation was fun. There weren’t any awkward lulls. But there was no chemistry on my part. I couldn’t see myself tearing off his clothes and telling him to take me right then and there. I always feel that is a must when looking for my significant other.
Oh well… Let’s see what tonight’s date with Scooterboy will be like…
